From Passion to Craft: The Story of a Family of Artisans

I still remember the moment I discovered the artisan’s passion for art. Since childhood, his hands have known how to bring materials to life—whether it was wood, canvas, clay, or even soap. Nothing remained unshaped when inspiration struck. However, his journey to where he is today was long, filled with trials, discoveries, and hard work.

He studied Geography at the University of Bucharest, but his true calling had always been art. His early works—oil paintings on canvas, commissioned portraits, icons, and beautifully painted walls—were all natural steps in his artistic pursuit. It took patience and many attempts to reach ceramics, but once he discovered this universe at one of his former workplaces, everything changed.

A self-taught artist by nature, he began experimenting with clay, shaping his first objects, learning from mistakes, and perfecting his technique. Visits to Italy, where ceramics are a true art form, inspired him even more, while Moroccan culture, with its vibrant details and rich colors, opened new horizons. Today, these influences are reflected in every piece he creates, combining the refined elegance of Italian ceramics with the exotic, ornamental elements specific to Moroccan art. The delicate patterns and hand-carved details pay tribute to Italian tradition, while the rich colors, arabesques, and shapes inspired by North African architecture create a unique and unmistakable style. Each piece—whether a ceramic sink, a plate, or a wall fixture—tells the story of the meeting between these two artistic worlds.

The sinks created in the workshop are true functional works of art. Each piece comes to life under the artisan’s hands, carefully shaped and decorated with motifs inspired by nature, architecture, and traditional craftsmanship. Thoughtfully chosen glazes add depth and texture, creating spectacular effects of color and light reflection. Some sinks are adorned with fluid, delicate lines reminiscent of water ripples, while others borrow precise geometric elements typical of Moroccan influences. Every detail speaks of mastery and passion, transforming each sink into a focal point in any space, turning an ordinary bathroom into a sanctuary of beauty.

Step by step, with his own savings, he invested in equipment: a kiln, a potter’s wheel, and essential tools to transform clay into true works of art.

His ceramic workshop is a place full of life and inspiration, where time seems to take on a different rhythm. The shelves are filled with pieces in various stages of work—some freshly shaped from soft clay, others already fired and ready for decoration. The potter’s wheel always finds its place at the heart of the space, where skilled hands shape new creations. On the tables, fine brushes, colorful glazes, sponges, and tools of various shapes are scattered, each playing a crucial role in the finishing process. The atmosphere is warm, imbued with the distinctive scent of damp clay and the gentle heat of the kiln, where ceramic sinks, plates, and cups come to life after firing.

In 2019, this passion turned into a family business. It was a moment of courage but also of trust. I took on the administrative side, handling promotion, advertising, and the details that helped us grow. But I didn’t stop there—I found my own place in this fascinating world, contributing to the creation of a small collection of ceramic accessories.

Today, I look back with gratitude and forward with hope. Each object created carries a part of our soul, our story, the work, and dreams that brought us here. And perhaps this is the charm of ceramics—the fact that each piece is unique, just like our journey.

This is our story. And we are just getting started.
